Yes.  Simply re-load the orginal object from disk into successive
layers as needed.  I'm not sure about 3.5 or 4.0, but 2.0 and 3.0/1
versions scrambled the point order when cut/copied and pasted.
Point ordering is crucial to the success of morphing.  If, while
working on the orginal, you want to have its stage of development
fixed for later use in case of future "mistakes," just save the
object under another name such as "temp1," "temp2," etc.
This way you preserve the point order and can reload it without
losing all the previous work.
